It appears that automation is increasingly in the headlines for replacing jobs. The World Economic Forum says more than 7 million jobs are at risk from advances in technology in the world’s largest economies over the next five years. So is it all downhill from here for the workers? The answer is a lot more subtle than a yes or no. Technology can enhance and replace in equal measures. Anticipating the shifts, figuring out the impacts and defining an aspirational future vision are critical to ensuring that we make aligned decisions, small and large, which lead to a human flourishing and sustainable future by 2050.
